Vista Announces Commencement of Operations of Outbound Rail Transload Terminal Facility to Serve West Texas Mine

Wednesday, 16 January 2019 by Vista Sand

— Provides Optionality to Bypass Growing Road Congestion Through Rail Delivery of Product to Key Regions in the Permian Basin —

FORT WORTH, Texas, Jan. 16, 2019 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Vista Proppants and Logistics, LLC(“Vista” or the “Company”), today announced the commencement of operations of a transload terminal facility to facilitate enhanced delivery of frac sand into the Midland and Delaware Basins of the Permian Basin.  The terminal, which is located near Vista’s West Texas mine in Monahans, Texas, will allow for the efficient shipment of frac sand via railcars from the Company’s West Texas mine.

Gary Humphreys, Vista’s Chief Executive Officer, commented, “There has been tremendous growth in the amount of frac sand produced in West Texas.  The related increase in truck traffic has resulted in significant congestion on the local and regional road system, which will be further pressured as additional announced production comes online.  Increased road congestion is leading to inefficiency in truck turn times, which results in higher costs for all parties, the need for more trucks and more qualified drivers.  Through the development of a transload terminal facility located very close to our West Texas mine, we will be able to deliver our products via railcar in multiple directions into key markets in the Permian.  The result will be cost savings through higher utilization of our truck fleet by lowering the distance to wellhead and – most importantly – superior reliability and surety of supply for our customers which ultimately lowers their cost.”

Vista Announces Development of New Frac Sand Mine Near Fay, Oklahoma

Wednesday, 10 October 2018 by Vista Sand

— 1.0 to 1.5 Million Tons Per Year Facility to Serve Growing Demand in SCOOP/STACK —

— Provides Update on West Texas Mine Expansion —

FORT WORTH, Texas, Oct. 10, 2018 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Vista Proppants and Logistics, LLC(“Vista” or the “Company”), today announced the development of a 1.0 to 1.5 million tons per year (“TPY”) frac sand mine northeast of Fay, Oklahoma to serve customers primarily operating in the Mid-Continent region’s SCOOP and STACK oil and gas plays. The Company has completed the purchase of the 1,150-acre site, which is located on Highway 33 and has ready access to water, electricity and natural gas. Vista recently filed permit applications and will begin construction following permit approval.

Gary Humphreys, Vista Chief Executive Officer, commented, “Our development of an in-basin mine in the underserved SCOOP and STACK plays is the next step in Vista’s long-term strategy to provide customers a broader-based, truly differentiated mine-to-wellhead solution for their frac sand needs. We plan on producing both 100 mesh and 40/70 products with solid crush and other characteristics designed to best serve the growing need for in-basin sourced frac sand. Similar to our three other mines, we will utilize trucking and our strategic footprint of transload facilities to efficiently deliver product and better serve E&Ps and oilfield service companies operating in the region.”

Separately, the Company provided an update on the expansion of its West Texas mine facility (“West Texas”) located in Winkler County, Texas. Operations at West Texas commenced in March 2018 and the mine is operating at its initial capacity run rate of 3.0 million TPY. In August, the Company received its New Source Review (“NSR”) permit that allows for the expansion of production capacity by an additional 2.0 million TPY (“Phase 2 Expansion”). This will bring total production capacity for West Texas to 5.0 million TPY.
